Macaroons- Attempt 2

Getting there!
So my aim is to make perfect macaroons. I can't say I've even eaten that many out but I really love them. I love how cute they look and how delicate they are. I especially love that they are a challenge to make, and that most people don't even bother. 
So as the title suggests, this photo is from my 2nd attempt, much better then my first. They were still too crunchy though. 
Some things I will improve for next time are- beating the egg whites a little longer, folding the mixture many more times and piping through a bigger hole. Hopefully next time they will be even better then I can move on to different flavors and ganache centers.  

Why blog?

So today I decided to start a blog. I'm not really sure why, it's not like a feel like I have a lot to offer. I guess its more of an extension of a hobby for me. I love to cook, I often decide to cook/bake when I'm bored or down. And I've been bored a lot lately, trying to find full time work. Like many others I often also find myself photographing my food, which is a bazaar craze I find, but nevertheless I find myself doing it. So now I have all these photos of food and no-one to share them with. That's what lead me to making a blog. That and my sisters very cool blog she recently started :)
At this stage I have no idea who will read it, if I'll just use it as an online diary of my cooking/food experiences or if I'll share it with others. All I know is I think it will be a fun pass time and something to do while my husband sits on the couch playing computer games and x-box. Now I have a hobby too.
For now though, I should get back to work....
